I thought about reshaping and covering using fiberglass/Bondo but curious if anyone here could suggest a different approach before I commit. I am pretty handy but limited knowledge with welding, rivets, etc. Maybe a thin piece of sheet metal or a formed wheel well replacement just unsure how to install. I would do exactly what the 2nd post recommended but I would also weld in new sheet metal with a MIG or a TIG Welder, grind down the welds and put a thin layer of body filler over it to make it look nice. While I have everything apart, I am Rust Bulleting the existing sheet metal, and the front and back of the patch panels. What I would like to do is bond the Rust Bulleted panel in place. I know 3M makes a good panel adhesive - but the instructions say to clean the parts to bare metal. I would like to avoid that. This is one of the Taiwanese parts (Dynacorn?) and it fits very well.
